The Studio is a very simple timber clad building with a metal standing seam roof and large covered overhangs. The garden & relaxation room opens to a patio space to create an inside / outside space.
With sliding doors on the front elevation which open to a patio area that is covered by a cantilevering roof, the design extends to the side to create a covered walkway linking to the home office space at the rear.
The Studio is designed to contrast with the existing house and create a multi-functional space that can accommodate all the family and their different pursuits. The building is clad in vertical natural timber and the roof is a standing seam metal. The aluminium windows and sliding doors all have minimal grey frames.
